The Batman (2022) – Full Movie, FrEE Streaming

The Batman opens on March 4, 2022. Batman was the biggest superhero franchise on the big screen, and even as Warner Bros. However, we do know when The Batman will make its way to HBO Max.

The Batman Release Date and Where You Can Watch It

The Batman is headed to theaters on March 4, 2022. It was initially set to open this year, but delays due to COVID-19 changed that. The 2022 release date will also keep the film from being part of Warner Bros.’s current method of simultaneously releasing all their 2021 titles in theaters and on HBO Max on the same day. That means The Batman will be exclusive to theaters.

 What is The Batman?

Don’t you mean “Who is The Batman?”  The Batman is yet another movie about Batman, and while it seems kind of silly to reboot this character yet again, Warner Bros. knows Batman is a big moneymaker.

And to be fair, the movie does look pretty damn cool. At one point, The Batman was going to be part of the DCEU, with Ben Affleck both directing and starring in the project, as well as working on the script. Eventually, Affleck stepped back from directing – and then left the project altogether. It will now be a standalone film completely separate from the DCEU continuity, similar to 2019’s Joker.

While the film is introducing us to a new Batman, it won’t be an origin story like Batman Begins. Instead, the film is set in the second year of Batman’s crimefighting mission. He’s been around in Gotham for a year now, and while people in Gotham are aware of him, he’s still a bit of a mystery. As director Matt Reeves explained during DC fandom,

this film drops us into Batman’s world as he’s taking part in a “criminological experiment to figure out how to change Gotham.”

Where will The Batman be set?

It’s fair to say that The Batman will be likely mostly be set in Gotham, but where specifically? According to Variety, “a handful of scenes” will be filmed in Arkham Asylum, the high-security prison known to comic book fans for housing super-criminals. The film won’t be fully set in Arkham but the hospital will be featured in some capacity.

This comes after it was theorized by fans that writer/director Matt Reeves may be partially drawing inspiration from Rocksteady’s popular Batman: Arkham Asylum video game that saw Batman locked in the psychotic psychiatric institution along with many of his greatest foes.

“It’s very practical, the idea is that [Batman] made it himself,” Reeves said at DC FanDome in August 2020. “It needs to look like he can move, but it’s still evolving. He’s in Year Two of being Batman.”

“It’s early and Batman’s still a vigilante,” the director continued. “[Gotham’s people] wonder, ‘That guy sounds a little dangerous.’ He’s not yet the symbol of hope. He’s still a growing legend. People wonder whether he exists. It’s one of the things he will confront in the story.”

The Batman story: what is the plot about?

The Batman is set during the second year of Bruce Wayne’s Batman career (per The Wrap). That should bypass the need to see another Batman origin movie, which Christopher Nolan’s films covered definitively in Batman Begins.

Here’s the movie’s official synopsis, by way of Warner Bros’ UK 2022 preview listing: “Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City.  With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon – amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.

“When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin, Carmine Falcone, and Edward Nashton aka the Riddler.

As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”

The presence of Catwoman, Penguin, and the Riddler in this film suggests we’re already fairly deep into DC Comics lore, with Paul Dano’s Riddler seemingly the main antagonist making life difficult for Wayne and his shadowy alter-ego.

How To Watch The Batman 2022 IN UK & Europe

The different iterations of the on-screen character range from the Batman TV series, with its shiny, skin-tight suits, word exchanges, and BAM-SOCK-POW fight scenes, to the more recent Snyderverse, quite the opposite. To that. Among them we have had that of Tim Burton, who celebrated the grotesqueness of Gotham and treated Batman as a kind of serious and firm master of ceremonies who tried to corner a group of weirdos, followed by that of Schumacher, who returned to the garish colors and added the controversial nipples to the uniform, returning to a more realistic and solemn tone in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy.

“Even in the early comics, there was something that I really liked,” says Pattinson. “In a lot of the early stories, he’s sitting in his house and a bat comes through the window, and it’s like, ‘He’s done! I’m going to be a bat. The actor continues as he laughs: “That doesn’t make any sense”.

The film’s script, Pattinson The streaming release explains, finally addresses the madness. “There’s an element in the other iterations of the story where Bruce leaves, does his training, controls himself, and then comes back to Gotham as a fully realized character, and the delineation between Bruce and Batman – the public Bruce, the private Bruce and the Batman Bruce – she’s very contained and can control her more easily,” says Pattinson. “And in this one, the lines have been totally blurred. His me as Bruce is disintegrating.”

Every time we know more details about what ‘The Batman’ will be like. Last week, we discovered that it had been classified as PG-13 (+12 in our country), so it was not going to be as violent as we expected. Now we would know more about its duration, since if the one published by an Australian cinema is confirmed, we could be facing the longest film that has been made about the Gotham vigilante.

This is the IMAX room in Melbourne, whose page shows that it will last 173 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 53 minutes. With this, it would exceed the 164 of ‘The Dark Knight: The Legend Rises’ and the 152 of ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. However, it would not be the longest in the genre, since ‘Avengers: Endgame’ reaches 3 hours and a minute.

In addition, what we will see in the new version of Robert Pattinson will have an appearance much closer to that of a detective film, according to the words of its director, Matt Reeves to Movie Maker: “I wanted to make a film in which the corruption of Gotham was one of the most important aspects of the story, because Gotham is sick. Bruce is desperate to try to make that change.”

Reeves has also explained why ‘The Batman’ is a ‘reboot’ and will have nothing to do with the adventures we have already seen. In an interview for Premiere magazine, he told what the reasons for this decision were: “I told Warner Bros. that they had to give me the freedom to make the definitive Batman movie. It was impossible to throw yourself halfway into a Batman, impossible to do it as fan. I aimed for the stars. That doesn’t mean we’re going to get there, but if we go out without ambition, it’s sure to be a disaster. I wouldn’t have tolerated failing on the comic book character I love the most.”

The Batman is the most anticipated movie in the DC Comics universe for this 2022. Last DC FanDome 2021, Matt Reeves broke all schemes by presenting the first official trailer for his new feature film, with Robert Pattinson as the protagonist and with Zoe Kravitz accompanying the bat. The feature film will be released on March 4, now we have it closer than ever, but it wasn’t always like that. The filming of The Batman went through many ups and downs and even filming had to be stopped at certain points, due to Robert Pattinson testing positive for COVID-19.

Nothing and less ago, Evangeline Lilly, speaking of Ant-Man and the Quantumania Wasp, has highlighted how hard it has been to shoot with the measures to prevent coronavirus infections and now it has been Pattinson himself who has explained for Movie Maker how has focused this process on the set of Matt Reeves.

Now the actor The Batman wanted to make things clear in an interview:

“The weirdest thing is that in a lot of scenes there was no one behind the camera. It’s weird. Especially when you’re on a big set. We were basically shooting night shots most of the time, and I can’t even tell when people were on set or not.” And peripheral vision doesn’t help either.”

Adds Zoe Kravitz: “We all had to adjust to the situation: being on set and having to wear masks, not seeing the faces of the crew and not being able to just sit and talk with the crew and stuff. It became very impersonal in In a way. That was kind of sad, because I love meeting the teams that I work with and hanging out with them… I think we were all happy to be there. But everyone was working really, really hard and going straight to home, and they couldn’t go anywhere to blow off some steam or even go to dinner. I was so grateful to be there. But it was definitely weird.”
